The Department of Pharmacology is a basic medical science speciality primarily deals with imparting knowledge, and skills to health care professional students from medical,Dental and paramedical specialties of this university.

Curriculum

Teaching opportunities are satisfactorily met with availability of well-equipped A/C Lecture halls,demonstration rooms with high quality audio-visual aids,Research and experimental lab. The department has its own library with latest edition of books and also provides a free access to central library for reference books & Journals. We have a well equipped CAL Lab (computer Assisted learning) as prescribed by the NMC.

Post Graduates

Every year the post graduates are trained in both theoretical and practical aspects of Pharmacology .In addition they are trained in ADR monitoring (Causality assessment), drug information service, and toxicology through chemical tests, seminars, journal clubs & computer assisted learning.

Teaching

The Pharmacology Department is armed with dedicated, experienced and dynamic faculties, keep themselves updated by participating in national conferenecs and presenting papers. Our faculty also involve themselves in research activities and gets published in National and International Journals with renowed indexed status.

Research Lab

The department has well equipped research lab, both for faculty and post graduate research activities. The equipments for neuro pharmacological screening including, Elevated plus maze analagesiometer,Electro convulsiometer, Rota rod, Actophotometer, Langendorffs apparatus for screening cardio vascular system were present in the research lab.

Animal House & Museusm

The department has a well maintained CCSEA approved A/C animal house and a museum.

Pharmacovigilance (AMC)

This department is also one of the AMC (adverse drug monitoring centre from 2021 Sep onwards with nearly 100 cases reported to IPC every year. The added asset of the department lies in conducting scientific session periodically relevant to the current trends.
