The Department of Pathology envisions to excel in medical education, Diagnostics-based research, fostering continuous professional growth, and addressing the needs of the accurate diagnosis for efficient patient management.

Mission

To develop holistic medical professionals with competence, compassion, and ethical behavior. To promote lifelong learning, evidence-based practice, teamwork, and quality diagnostic works for efficient patient care.

Objectives

• Prepare students to be competent in interpreting and correlating clinical datas and diagnosis of common health problems of the patients.
• Raise awareness about the holistic approach to patient care.
• Improve the attitude for continued self learning and sense of responsibility with documentation skills
• Prepare the students to work as member in health care team

Academics

We follow the norms set by the National Medical Commission and The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R University. In addition to didactic lecture sessions , we facilitate ‘small group’ interactive teaching sessions, to maximize learning on the topics and better understanding about the disease process and diagnosis. For MBBS students, we offer many case based learning sessions, assignments to improve self learning ability .Students are also exposed to research through active participation in research projects under the guidance of faculty members, equipping them with practical skills and knowledge in diagnostics.

Additionally, the department features a museum, research laboratories, and library facilities, providing essential resources for academic and professional development.

Diagnostic

We have well equipped hematology, clinical pathology, cytology, Immunohematology and histopathology laboratories with latest automated machines for patient service as well as academic purpose. Diagnostic patient service quality is upgraded by acquiring NABL accreditation too.
